We, Dr. Jack Engelberg PT, DPT and Dr. Joey Weiss PT, DPT, started Refuah Physical Therapy in 2012.

As we walked, out of one of our basketball league games, and talked it sparked a conversation to start our own clinic. We knew we could offer a personal and effective experience that most places were not. The next day we drove around looking for a location to rent. We eventually found our flagship location on Ave M in the Midwood area of Brooklyn.

Two years later we opened our second location on 18th Ave in Borough Park. In 2017 Refuah opened up a third location in Staten Island with Dr. Richard Melville PT, DPT, ATC as a partner. Joining forces with Dr. Melville in Staten Island was a no-brainer as he has proved to be a diligent, brilliant, up and coming clinician.

Turn the page to 2018, Madison Park Physical Therapy, a staple of the Madison area of Brooklyn, was taken over by Refuah. When we met the previous owners and the current staff it was obvious a family was built in this facility that we wanted to be part of. We are very proud of our beginnings but more proud of the lives we’ve changed for the better, the friends we’ve made, and the colleagues we’ve had the pleasure to work with.
